Why waste data is so rubbish
Building on a talk from May’s Show and Tell event, October’s session takes a longer look at one of the UK’s most grimy industries, waste crime, which costs the English economy £1 billion each year.
We will be hearing from two speakers who will share why and how accessing good data about waste is such a sticky problem. Our first speaker is Sophie Walker, CEO and co-founder of Southport-based Dsposal.

Who is the LCR Data Community of Practice?
We are a group of people from across the region’s data ecosystem that work in or are interested in working with data. We have quarterly in-person meet-ups around lunchtime with online events in between. Our events are informal, welcoming and free.
